 Get Ready....Big Annual Book Sale Coming!!!

Members get a whole day before everyone else to buy their pick of the books.

Member date: April 24 (Thursday)  from 9.30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

 Everyone else: April 25, from 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and

April 26, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Hardbacks are 50 cents and paperbacks are 25 cents

2007 Friends Projects

Friends matched the city in funding of 7,360.50 for the inventory control system for the library

In the Fall we gave free of charge the Dr. Bill Bass and Jon Jefferson program. Over 200
people attended from all over the state.

We paid 3, 048.00 for the Will Rogers impersonator who spoke during the Will Rogers Festival

Currently, we have the only bookstore in Guntersville - all stocked by the community. This
year has been a banner year. Thanks to all those who donate their used magazines and books!

We provided all the funding for the children's special programs during the summer reading program and held a Magic Sow for the city kindergarten classes.

We donated 300.00 towards the city-wide Trick-or-Treat fest at the Holiday Inn and gave an extra 250.00 to ehlp the children's librarian open her program to the mentally challenged.

This fall we held a Tall Tales contest for students in grades 3rd through 8th, there were more than 300 entries.

We fund the Free Friday Foreign Film program offered free to the public one Friday of each month

We have contributed many volunteer hours in the Book Sale room, made cookies for programs, sent out mailings, and contributed a few hundred hours to setting up the library inventory control.

Finally, almost 15,000.00 was given to the library to purchase new materials. This year we gave more funding towards the purchase of Large Print books and DVDs.
