Dive into a world of imagination with our Summer Reading Program! From toddlers to seniors, we have something for everyone. Join exciting events, track your reading progress, and unlock rewards all summer long. Don't miss out - let the adventure begin at your library!
Kids: Ages 0-11
Ages 6-11
For every 20 minutes of reading or being read to, participants will receive one raffle ticket to win the grand prize of $50 to the Snail on the Wall bookstore. Additionally, hit the 200-, 400-, and 600-minute goal posts, and pick out a free book or button at the library! Free book pickup is on Fridays & Saturdays only.

Teens
Prizes
Earn up to three free books by tracking your minutes through the Reader Zone app using the code a508e. For every 300 minutes read, pick out a book or button from the library! That breaks down to about 30 minutes per day for 30 days. Also, for every 30 minutes read, you will get one entry into our grand raffle for a $50 gift card to Huntsville's online bookstore, Snail on the Wall! Free book pickup is on Fridays & Saturdays only.

Rebel Adventure
Calling all rebel spies! We need your help to keep the W.A.R. facility from coming online. Come dressed in your best mission gear. Only one team can succeed—do you have what it takes?
Please note: This is a tabletop, escape-room style adventure.

Greek Warriors
Learn about ancient Greek warriors from the medieval perspective All'antica style (because our ancestors were into LARPing too.) Rocket City HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) will be coming with weapons and demonstrating techniques, so get ready to see history come to life!
July 12 at 6:30pm
Defeat the Dark Lord
Break into teams and race through the library solving clues and completing challenges to obtain everything you need to defeat the Dark Lord. The winning team will receive honor, glory, and whatever remains of the Dark Lord's hoard.

Mini Golf
Registration required! Please sign up at this link. Bring your friends or hang out with your family (for ages 8+), and test out your putting game between the stacks as the cool breeze of AC provides refuge from that Alabama heat.

How it works
Download the Reader Zone app and join the Adult 19+ Summer Reading Group with code a508e to start tracking your progress. Add books to your Book Bank by searching for the title or scanning the barcode. Make sure to mark them read and then "Finish Book" to confirm they are an entry into your reading program.
Earn FREE books!
For every 3 books you read and track in the app you will earn one free book off our Summer Reading Cart AND an entry into our Grand Prize Drawing. Free books are limited to 3, but keep reading for the chance to win our Grand Prize Drawing! Claim your free books on any Friday or Saturday.
